Performers from the Wiener Philharmoniker, Berliner Philharmoniker, and prestigious orchestras in America will gather together as faculty. A prize winner from the 2015 International Tchaikovsky Competition, of which Valery Gergiev is Chairman, is planned to appear as a soloist.



New PMF Auditions Starting with the 2015 season, the Academy audition procedure has been completely redesigned. In place of the previous combination of live auditions in cities around the world and recorded auditions, a new online audition system has been introduced via the American online portal site “Acceptd.” The audition page can be accessed from all over the world, and it has already been accessed over 10,000 times (as of Nov. 20).
“Acceptd” consists of a system through which applicants submit recordings of their own performance. Since implementation of this system does away with the hurdles related to traveling to audition sites, greater opportunities for gifted young musicians are available. (Three courses: Orchestra/Conducting/Vocal)

Bernstein Place: Seasons Series ～ Late Autumn ～

On July 21, 2014, “Bernstein Place,” a new symbol of PMF’s inspiring history, was born in the midst of Sapporo’s beautiful summer season.
Here, in the heart of the city, in Nakajima Park with the Bernstein Statue, the richness of Sapporo’s natural environment and the changing of the seasons can be clearly felt.
In this first part of the series, we bring you Bernstein Place in late autumn.
