On July 13, Mr. Lorin Maazel, who had planned to be the Principal Conductor of PMF 2014, suddenly passed away.

With deep admiration for the immeasurable body of work that he left to the music world, we express our sincerest sympathies, and we pray that he will find eternal rest.

This summer, he was forced to cancel his participation at PMF due to health related issues, though he so looked forward to making music with the young musicians of PMF. We were hopeful that he would be able to participate with us in the near future, and we are deeply saddened by this sudden news of his passing.

Now, with Mr. Maazel's generous words and expectations toward us in our hearts, we will dedicate ourselves to the performances of Programs B and C, which the Maestro so kindly planned for us, offering these programs up to the Great Maestro Lorin Maazel.
